This 11-room boutique hotel stays true to its name amid this cosmopolitan African city. The Retreat is a serene, minimalist, high-end contemporary hotel-within-a-hotel. Here the rooms are split between ground-level Deluxe King rooms and the upper-level Superior King suites, the latter coming with double sinks, indoor and outdoor showers. Rooms 9, 10 and 11 have pool views.

The intimate Fusion Restaurant with clothed tables set around the pool and an Italian-leaning menu mixed with Mauritian and Moroccan influences forms part of The Retreat.
