Overview

Set in a grove of trees, and surrounded by papyrus beds, Sanctuary Baines’ Camp is built on raised platforms high above the Boro River in a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Sanctuary Baines’ Camp encouraged the local community in Maun to collect cans, with a fee paid for every can, which we recycled to form the backbone of the camp’s structures. Baines’ is also one of only two camps to offer you the opportunity to walk with elephants.

The lodge has six elegant suites set on elevated platforms, offering breath-taking views of the river and a nearby lagoon. Each suite features a comfortable four-poster bed which can be moved outdoors for a spectacular night under the stars. An en-suite bathroom, personal bar, ceiling fans and a private veranda completes the room.

The guest areas include a wide veranda, ideal for outdoor dining.
