“Thanks to Eye See Africa and especially Tertius, we spent the best holidays ever in South Africa and Mozambique. We started in Capetown and although we know this city quite well, we got to know great new places and wineries through Tertius such as Babylon Storen as well as Creation in Hermanus. Compared to travel agents from Europe which we used before, we appreciate a lot getting those insider tips through mates on site such as Tertius. During the whole vacation we stayed in touch through a special whatsapp group. We never got such a great service. After staying 4 days in Sabi Sand with amazing animal sightings, it is due to Eye See Africa that we spent a week in Mozambique on Benguerra Island.
The Beauty of Benguerra Island is amazing. As soon as we arrived at Vilanculos Airport an &Beyond employee welcomed us and checked us in for the heli flight. Not 5 minutes later we sat already in the heli and had a stunning flight over the Bazzaruto Archipel to the lodge which team welcomed us in a very authentic way. We appreciated a lot the privacy of our Cabana which are all directly situated at the beach. The view through the Palm trees to the ocean is amazing. And so the water temperature – you cannot believe it. The Cabanas are in Colonial style which we like a lot. We loved having our dinner served at a table directly at the beach with just 3 windlights next to us. The chef and his crew surprised us everyday. It was haute cuisine at its highest level and we have been thrilled by his fusion style of combining international dishes with local mocambique epices and way of cooking. Of course we eat fish every day and never had so good crayfish in our whole live (which you eat there without cocktail sauce or garlic sauce, because the pure taste of a fresh catched crayfish is indescribable). We have been twice to the Maledives which are beautiful but boring. The day trip to paradise Island (isla Santa Catarina) was the best we ever did in our life. Forget the Maledives if you snorkel at paradise island. You cannot believe how many fish surround you and how beautiful the corals are. On the way back we saw dolphins and dougons. Parts of the islands we passed looked like the Skeletton Coast of Namibia. Time just flew there and within 6 days we almost did not have time to read a book. Other guest told us that their high sea fishing trip was the best they ever did as their guide from Zimbabwe explained them everything about fishing and after they caught two tunas they got a picnic on a lonely island. So guess what the chef did with the fresh tuna that evening… We definitely will come back to this place and for us it was the best „finish“ of staying 4 days on a game drive in the bush. And again Eye See Africa did an amazing job organizing everything for us.”
