If your main purpose is to see the Mountain Gorillas then this 3-night itinerary is perfect for you. After spending your first night in Entebbe you will fly early on day two to Kisori wherafter a short and very scenic transfer will bring you to Lake Mutanda which, with a backdrop of the famous Virunga mountains , is probably the most beautiful lake in the whole of Uganda. After lunch there is the option to either go on a boat ride on Lake Mutanda or jump on the back of a Boda Boda (Local scooter) to explore the area around the lake. The next morning an hour transfer will bring you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will trek one of the 14 habituated groups roaming the forest. You may also be allocated the Mhahinga group which has the biggest Silverback of all the groups. On your last day you will after breakfast be transferred back to Kisoro for your flight to Entebbe and then homebound.
- Lake Mutanda – is a little known jewel, hidden in the mountainous landscape of southwestern Uganda, in Kisoro District. It is one of the most scenic lakes in Africa, located in a dramatic landscape of lush and verdant sprawling highlands.
- Virunga mountains – The virunga volcanoes are volcanoes found across the border of Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. In Uganda they are called the Mufumbiro Mountains and are found in southwestern Uganda along the border of Uganda with Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.
- Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest – Uganda’s oldest and “Impenetrable” forest lies in the southwest corner of Uganda. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site due to its ecological uniqueness and natural beauty, roughly half of the world’s total gorilla population live in this park.

Entebbe – 1 Night
Day 1
After arrival in Entebbe on your international flight a short transfer will bring you to your accommodation located close to the airport. Entebbe is located on a small peninsular on Lake Victoria around 40kms from the capital city of Uganda – Kampala. Although known as an airport where all international flights arrive in Uganda this city on lake Victoria offers more than just to catch a flight! Depending on the arrival time of your international flight activities like a cruise on lake Victoria, visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary or looking for the rare Shoebill Stork at Mbamba swamp can be included. Dinner this evening booked at our favorite restaurant where you can sit with your feet in the sand watching the sunset on Lake Victoria.
Lake Mutanda- 2 Nights
Day 2
This morning after an early breakfast you will be transferred to Entebbe International for your short flight to Kisoro. While Kisoro may not be much to look at, its verdant surrounds are undeniably beautiful and on a clear day the backdrop of the Virunga chain of volcanoes is stunning. Lake Mutanda is a little-known jewel hidden in the mountainous landscape of southwestern Uganda. It is one of the most scenic lakes in Africa located in a dramatic landscape of lush and verdant sprawling highlands. Its fresh clear water is dotted by at least 15 islands lush with trees, shrubs and many bird species. This amazing scenery is set against a stunning backdrop of the cloudy peaks of the Virunga Mountain Volcanoes. Ideally located between Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga national parks and overlooking the lake is the unrivalled location of the colourful Chameleon Hill Lodge. With exquisite views of Lake Mutanda below and beyond and with the Virunga Volcanoes as a backdrop, the lodge is surrounded by awe-inspiring scenery and could not be more idyllic. A short scenic transfer will bring you to your lodge where the rest of the afternoon is at at your own leisure. Optional activities which can be arranged at Lake Mutanda is canoeing, visiting local villages or exploring the beautiful area on the back of local motorbike called Boda Boda.
Day 3
The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994 because of its rich diversity in flora and fauna and is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This morning after an early rise and breakfast you will be transferred to Bwindi forest (+- 1 hour away) for your Gorilla trekking. Trekkers will ensure that we will find one of the Gorilla groups which can take between 45 minutes and 2-3 hours. We will spend a maximum of 1 hour with the group and the experience of being so close to these beautiful and peaceful animals will stay with you forever. We will return back to Lake Mutanda at around lunchtime. The rest of the afternoon is for you to relax and obviously scan through all the photos that you have taken for that perfect shot. Other activities on the lake and surrounding area is also possible. This evening we will enjoy dinner on the veranda of Chameleon Hill Lodge for a last sunset over Lake Mutanda.
Day 4
After a last breakfast overlooking the lake and the Virunga Mountains you are transferred back to Kisoro for your flight to Entebbe and then your international flight homebound.
