Just back from an incredible holiday in Uganda, organised by EyeSeeAfrica. A quick and easy flight from Cape Town to Entebbe (via Kigali), Uganda offered everything we could have wished for. Murchison Falls National Park is an unspoilt gem – very few tourists and an ABUNDANCE of wildlife in a spectacular setting on the Nile – we even spotted the elusive Shoebill amongst the papyrus! The nearby Murchison Falls (the “food processor” of the Nile) is also a must. Kipedo Valley Nature Park in the North offered the most incredible savannas, with a slightly nerve wrecking drive on a path that went through a herd of probably 600+ buffalo. Sipi Falls at Mount Elgon was a perfect end to the trip. Thanks to the people of Uganda for their friendly reception and for sharing their beautiful country with us and to EyeSeeAfrica for putting together the perfect itinerary and taking care of all the arrangements – we did not have to worry about a thing and could just relax and enjoy! Uganda is not ticked off my list – I am going back! I would definitely recommend Murchison Falls National Park for anyone who has limited time but is looking for an authentic safari experience without the crowds – if you have more time to explore the rest of Uganda, bonus!
